Key Workers for Children In Need Day, 13.11.20
The children all looked fantastic dressed as key workers to raise money for Children In Need today! Thank you to parents and carers for your support with this.
Poo Investigation! 5.11.20
Following our Prehistory workshop, we learnt a bit more about what people ate in the different periods of Prehistory. We did this by investigating poo! (It wasn't really poo - just brown play dough - phew!) Today, scientists use this technique to find out about animal diets and habitats. We dissected the poo samples and used our food type sheets to identify the bits of food that we found. We then used our findings to guess which period of prehistory the poo sample came from.
Prehistory Workshop, 5.11.20
Today, we took part in a Prehistory workshop. It was led by Vanessa, an expert in Prehistory. During the workshop, we learnt about the different periods of Prehistory, from the Old Stone Age to the Iron Age. We also tried some Stone Age activities, including making flour using a grain grinder, making a hole in a wooden disc using a hand drill and dressing up in authentic prehistoric clothing! We had great fun and learnt that it was hard work living in the Stone Age!
Diwali and Diya Lamps, 21.10.20
This week we have been learning about Hinduism and the festival of Diwali. We learnt what Diya lamps are and how they can be used as part of this festival. After making our lamps using clay, we carved patterns into them and painted them in bright colours.
Teamwork Skills, 11.09.20
Today we learnt how to play our wet play games, and developed some excellent teamwork skills in the process! We discussed which skills make us good team players and allow us to have the most fun.
