We know that being a parent can be both rewarding and challenging, and we all need a helping hand at times. Knowing where to go and who to turn to can be vital to getting that help early and preventing further escalation.  Parenting programmes are a source of support for all parents and carers and offer an opportunity to share parenting experiences, develop a greater understanding of child development, build positive relationships and learn skills to deal with challenging behaviour.

ParentPay

 

As well as paying for school trips, school dinners, before and after school clubs and various other activities, all school letters and correspondence are sent via email using ParentPay.  Therefore it is imperative that all parents and carers sign up to ParentPay and keep an eye on their email accounts.

 

This school online payment system gives you a more convenient and flexible way to pay school online and helps to keep your child safe.  By making cashless payments you know that your money has reached the school safely.  ParentPay offers you the freedom to make payments whenever and wherever you like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the highest internet security available.

 

You can view your account statement and payment history, check when payments need to be made and set alerts to tell you when to pay school online.  There is also a ParentPay app that you can download. If you are new to the school, you will shortly receive an activation letter for ParentPay.  If you need extra support, an additional user set up or have forgotten your log in details, the school office will be very happy to help you.

Swiggle - child-friendly search engine (SWGfL)

Swiggle.org.uk is a friendly search engine aimed at children in Key Stage 2. It has been designed and developed by South-west Grid for Learning, a charity dedicated to empowering the safe and secure use of technology.

Swiggle.org.uk gives children a great start in encouraging responsible online searching. The internet is a vast resource, and some content is not appropriate for children, SWGfL recommends adding Swiggle to your browser or put the Screen Cover link on your bookmark bar.

Swiggle is powered by Google Custom Search, the results are filtered using Google SafeSearch, and SWGfL has configured the results to prioritise educational resources. Swiggle also filters the search terms to check that it is not being used to search for inappropriate content.
